For Duane

This track was recorded in Atlanta on November 25, 1984. It is another solo from "Whipping Post", played on the custom Strat. The vamp played by the band is based on Bo Diddley's "I'm A Man". The title refers to Duane Allman (1946-1971), who played guitar on the original recording by the Allman Brothers Band. That band was founded in Georgia, albeit in Macon, not Atlanta.
Also, FZ reportedly dedicated this song to Duane's memory at this '84 show.

I'd never noticed this before, but Frank does indeed say "For Duane" before WP.

Just wanted to note that WP author is another Allman. Greg.
