An interesting bit of background on this album : during the spring
1980 U.S. tour FZ's band frequently played a set which went as follows -
|
Instrumental Opener/Teenage Wind/Harder Than Your Husband/Bamboozled
By Love/Pick Me I'm Clean/YAWYI Side 2/Easy Meat/Mudd Club/The Meek/Heavenly
Bank Account to Drafted (YAWYI Side 4)/Joe's Garage/Hurt When I Pee
(+encores)
|
During the first show of the tour (Seattle 3/25/80), FZ announced at
the start that the material was intended as an extension of Joe's Garage,
representing various things that happened to Joe after he got sick of his
job at the UMRK and quit. FZ dropped this explanation at later shows, but
this didn't stop the Mud Shark label from releasing a vinyl boot of one of
these sets titled "Joe's Garage Acts IV and V Live?".

Very accurate, Pat.

I'd love to hear the tape of the Joe's explanation - I don't really
recall that. It may have been in reference to Vinnie who had quit the
band at the last minute.
