Since we did such a good job on the list of influences in Freak Out!,
why don't we take a shot at the Mothers' Auxiliary listed on the same
album? Most of these people are presumably freaks who contributed
percussion or vocals to "The Return Of The Son Of Monster Magnet", but
some are orchestral musicians.

Longtime music-industry hustler. Among other things, he was the manager
of The Runaways, which included Joan Jett, and was later sued by them
for pocketing their royalties.
Sings the song "Monkey Lust" on Leo Kottke's first album on Capitol.
(Kottke-FZ connection: Leo has mentioned Frank in each of his last 2
concerts I've attended, and check out the percussion which ends his song
'Jack Gets Up'.)

Inneresting. He was just in Detroit and, among other things, claims to
have played the kazoo on "Who Are The Brain Police".

Check out the list at her website . She says
she played 12-string guitar on the first two Frank Zappa LPs. That's
inconsistent with the credits on Absolutely Free, but maybe she's
counting
the two discs of Freak Out! separately.
